Two words: Deep trouble

In case you guys don't know what I am talking, we are supposed to have a band performance this coming Saturday, in Raffles Hall itself, since we are going to have a NTU Hall 11 visit to our Hall... I have not much problem with that, but it is with performance.

Firstly, we are supposed to play 2 songs by Ashlee Simpson and Michelle Branch. The songs are not difficult, but it is the practise which is difficult. Anyway, I realise how difficult it is to have synchronization between players. I have to be in collaboration with the drummer (Melissa) because we are supposed to 'catch the groove', but sometimes the beat may go on the wrong side of the track. The lead guitarist (Tommy) tried his very best in playing. There's no complaining in playing technic. All boils down to timing. Vocalist (Lai Sha) noticed that too...

This is only one song, and we haven't even tried the other song. The problem is - we have only one week to practise... I am rather pessimistic about this, but suddenly I remember how I used to practise for my church band. 4 songs within one hour, and we did it... I hope things will still be the same here.

Gerald must be very concerned about this performance, because this is the first time he fills in the first years to perform, save Lai Sha. No complain, but I think he had in mind the purpose to fill us in... I always trust Gerald.

Well. NTU Hall 11 event is coming up next week. Then I got to prepare for my Christmas Party performance for Unplugged. Then, the music camp is a rather tedious thing, and at first I thought of giving up joining GENUS (Guitar Ensemble of NUS), but then again, if I give up, it means I give up my dream of being able to play guitar professionally and perform... (I don't know whether I can perform or not, since up to now, my standard seems to drift away alot from orchestra pieces). Besides, remembering I am participating for JamX next year (January 15), there is no way I can slack around.

Ah, now I am thinking about playing games, but I have no mood at all. Sorry Kah Liat, Wei Zheng and Gary. I can't play games as often as you guys want me to be anymore. I need to practise alot for my guitar performances. You guys know about me. My learning skill is some thing like Lee-San, needs a lot of time to absorb new things... forgive me ah bruder... ;)
