Disclaimer: Initially I had no intention to continue the issue on Raffles Hall, and it is really coincident that I would write about such issue.

Here we go...

I went out with my father and my aunt's family yesterday. Then, me and my dad went to Bugis, doing some shopping. (Bought 2 watches, a shirt for myself. Dad got himself some CDs)

Anyway, the issue comes when we all were eating at James' place (My aunt's son). The whole family was there, and Theresa was there as well (James' sister). We all were eating happily when James suddenly ask me about hall matters, like: Which hall you are staying, how is Raffles Hall, still giving the same 5-meal package, is the hall as prestigious as it was last time?

I would want to politely make friendly remark about Raffles Hall, but when it comes to the last question, I don't think I would want to lie about it. There and then did I tell James and Theresa, because they seem to be extremely interested with my hall matters, and we did talk a bit regarding some hall matters. Mostly about the darker side of hall, in which James was quite confused...

What striked me alot is the post-conversation reactions from James and Theresa. Funny thing is they are already alumnis... for nearly 10 years, and that I remember Theresa moved out of Raffles Hall in the 3rd year. But their reactions were not that I thought of. In fact they surprised me.

When James talked about the 'prestigious' issue, before he let me answer, he kept on rabbling about how good Raffles Hall was during its good ol' years. I was quite taken aback though, because the prestigious factor he said was actually the 'lowsy' factor why people here don't want to stay.

Thing is, I never expect him to be so proud of Raffles Hall, and what more, from Theresa too. Is their love for hall that much? That when I told them about the current factor of Raffles Hall, they seem to be terribly upset.

This morning I came back from Yishun, and seem to ponder on their remark alot. I haven't been really been in touch with any alumni of Raffles Hall before because of the loose contacts the alumnis have with the final years (In fact, I am not). But strange thing that I realise is that, while university staffs condemn hall residents, praising the alumnis for bringing the benefits to University, it was the ex-hall residents who are actually considered NUS Alumnis, because the others only bother to come take a degree, and chiao... this exclude NUSSU and those organisational bodies.

Is there a problem with the now people? Or is it just me? As a dirtbag? You judge
